The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX) has formally stated that it would be closed on Friday, September 29, 2023, in observance of Eid Milad Un Nabi.

This significant decision was communicated through an official notification, urging all TRE Certificate Holders, staff, and stakeholders to mark the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal as a day of commemoration for Eid Milad un Nabi.

This annual Islamic observance holds immense importance for Muslims worldwide as it marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Eid Milad un Nabi, also known as Mawlid al-Nabi, is a day of immense spiritual significance for Muslims. It is celebrated on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and marks the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

By observing Eid Milad un Nabi, PSX not only honors the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) legacy but also showcases the importance of unity and understanding among diverse communities.

The closure of PSX on Eid Milad un Nabi provides an opportunity for its stakeholders to participate fully in these spiritual and community-oriented activities.

This decision ensures that individuals can spend quality time with their families, engage in religious rituals, and reflect on the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) without the distraction of financial markets.
